Adaptive Technologies Inc. helps people who are blind and visually impaired to maintain independence and be successful with academic as well as professional goals, by providing the assistive technology (AT) training and support necessary to be effective at any age. We are available throughout New Jersey, and in addition to assisting those with visual impairments, we also work with families, teachers and employers to identify and learn to use the technology that is most appropriate to achieve the very best outcomes. Our instructional services are conducted one-on-one or in small group settings in homes, schools, work-places, etc., with step-by-step learning sessions that are tailored specifically towards the individual needs of the consumer.

A critical factor that makes Adaptive Technologies unique is that all of our instruction is taught by highly qualified staff, who whenever possible instructor and recognize that if their teacher can use this device they can too. Our experts fully understand how using AT dramatically improves the quality of one’s life, and based on their knowledge and own experiences are able to use that insight to perform concise technology assessments and skill evaluations for consumers. Staff subsequently makes recommendations for equipment, software, and training, followed by installation, setup, and configuration of the recommended equipment on-site for consumers. For those individuals requesting service at their place of employment, we also evaluate work environments with respect to accessibility for employees with vision loss, and when appropriate, make suggestions for solutions that would make these workplaces and the software applications they use more compatible with AT.
